The drive from Sangster International Airport (MBJ) to Montego Bay
- Leaving MBJ you join the Sunset Boulevard corridor, which runs directly past Sangster's perimeter towards the waterfront — this is the stretch that serves the Hip Strip, Doctor's Cave Beach and the Montego Bay Convention area.
- Turning east onto the A1 / Rose Hall main road takes you past Ironshore and Half Moon towards the Rose Hall resort strip. The road is dual carriageway for most of it and is the smoothest drive in Jamaica.
- Turning west instead takes you along the coast towards Reading and Hopewell — the start of the Negril and Lucea run.
- Traffic matters more than distance here. Between roughly 4pm and 6pm the Bogue and Howard Cooke roundabouts back up, and a 15-minute run can become 30. We build that into the pickup plan rather than surprising you with it.
What happens when you land
- 1Clear immigration and collect your bags — allow 30–60 minutes at MBJ during peak cruise and winter season.
- 2Walk through customs into the arrivals hall. Your driver is standing inside the hall with a printed PMI sign showing your name.
