Montego Bay Airport (MBJ) to Secrets St. James Transfer

Where Secrets St. James is

Freeport peninsula, southwest of Montego Bay town centre, on the opposite side of the harbour from the Hip Strip. It is a genuine peninsula: there is one road in and one road out, past the cruise terminal.

The route from Sangster International Airport (MBJ)

• Leave MBJ on Sunset Boulevard heading towards town.
• Turn southwest at the Bogue roundabout onto the Freeport road, passing the Montego Bay Cruise Terminal.
• Continue to the end of the peninsula where the Secrets complex gate sits — the guard checks the reservation name before the barrier lifts.
• Inside the gate the road splits: left for Secrets Wild Orchid, right for Secrets St. James. Adults-only St. James is the further of the two.

Arrival procedure at Secrets St. James

1. 1Your driver gives your name at the Secrets gate; the guard logs the arrival.
2. 2You are dropped under the covered portico at the St. James lobby, not at the shared entrance.
3. 3Bellstaff take the luggage; your driver waits until you are inside before leaving.
4. 4Check-in is 3pm. Arriving earlier is fine — the resort holds bags and you can use the pools and restaurants.

Which vehicle suits this transfer

This is an adults-only property, so the typical booking is a couple or two couples. A First Class sedan (BMW X7 or similar, up to 4 passengers) is the usual fit. Groups travelling together with Wild Orchid guests should take the 12-seat Hiace so both parties stay in one vehicle through the gate.

One suitcase plus one carry-on per traveler is included. Golf clubs are common at this end of the bay — mention them when booking so we assign a vehicle with the rear space rather than stacking bags on a seat.

Your return transfer

For the return we collect you 3 hours before your departure time. From Freeport that is a comfortable margin: the drive itself is 15 minutes even at rush hour, and it leaves time for the long check-in queues MBJ gets on Saturday mornings.
